“I’m terrified to have you on the show… because you’ve been such a part of my private life.” That’s what I tell our guests today on the She Saves Herself podcast.
Have you ever had something that was so important to you that you kept it mostly to yourself?
Something sacred. Incredible meaningful. Something that helped shape who you are.
The thought of sharing it feels vulnerable because once it’s out in the world, it is no longer something sacred that belongs only to you. You have no control over how people will receive it. And perhaps the biggest fear of all is that by sharing it, you are really sharing more of who you truly are—the parts that have never, ever been shared with others. Yet somehow, every fiber of your being says, “SHARE ME! IT’S TIME.”
That’s where I’ve arrived. There are things that have impacted my life so immensely that not sharing them feels like a disservice to you and to the world.
When I was diagnosed with clinical depression and was suffering from drug addiction and eating disorders, these two were there for me. When I left my soul-suffocating corporate job to follow my heart and become a writer, these two were my biggest cheerleaders. When I got involved with a predatory romance scammer and professional con artist, sold all my furniture, and moved to Mexico, they were there with me. And today, they are here with us.
That’s how I feel about today’s conversation. I am excited to introduce you to my teaches, dear friends and mentors.
If you’ve ever wondered who supported me during some of the darkest seasons of my life…who stood beside me as I rebuilt myself, my life, and helped me to find a deeper truth in myself and connection to God and my guides…
Today, you get to meet them.
When you’ve already lived through what most people fear, you become fearless.
—Summer Bacon
In this episode, I’m joined by my close friend and mentor of more than 15 years, Summer Bacon
Summer is a mystic, writer, empath, highly sensitive person, and the channel for Dr. James Martin Peebles, whose teachings have been part of my life for many years.
Together, we have an honest conversation about intuition, healing, relationships, self-trust, empathy, personal responsibility, and what it means to remain loving without losing yourself.
Listen in as we dive deeper into:
- Why so many caring, compassionate people stay in relationships long after they know something isn’t right
- The hidden cost of always giving others the benefit of the doubt
- How empathy without boundaries can quickly become self-abandonment
- Why sensitive people often question themselves instead of trusting themselves
- What happens when you stop trying to change, rescue, or understand everyone else and finally turn that compassion toward yourself
- How to navigate betrayal, manipulation, judgment, and being misunderstood without losing yourself in the process
- What it looks like to reclaim your voice, your power, and your peace
- And near the end of our conversation, I do something I’ve never done before on the podcast: I invite Summer to bring through Dr. Peebles (my OG mentor) for a message on love, self-trust, and navigating turbulent times in our life.
This episode is for you if you’ve ever:
- Stayed longer than you should have because you saw the good in someone
- Ignored your own needs while caring for everyone else’s
- Questioned yourself instead of trusting what you already knew
- Been hurt, betrayed, manipulated, or misunderstood
- Felt responsible for someone else’s healing, happiness, or growth
- Struggled to let go of people who were no longer healthy for you
- Wondered how to remain loving without losing yourself
- Been learning how to trust yourself again
For years, Doctor Pebbles and Summer Bacon’s teachings have been part of my private life and personal healing journey. Sharing this publicly felt incredibly vulnerable, but the message that came through about self-love, forgiveness, personal freedom, and trusting yourself I new without a shadow of doubt to “Share Me! It’s Time!”
Because at its heart, this episode is about something we all need: Learning how to trust ourselves, love ourselves, and stop abandoning ourselves.
